Sample AAFCO Statements

(Association of American Feed Control Officials)

Sample Statement #1

This is a sample AAFCO statement found on Life's Abundance Premium Health Food for Cats, the cat food I now give to my healthy cat, Neko.

"Life's Abundance Premium Health Food For Kittens & Adult Cats is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages."

Sample Statement #2

This is a sample statement from Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken Meal & Brown Rice Medley, a top quality cat food (I confidently fed this to my healthy cats for years and still recommend it as a top brand).

"Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken Meal & Brown Rice Medley is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profile for all life stages."

Be sure that the cat food you choose for your feline companion has a similar statement on the label.

Learn More about AAFCO

A statement from the Association of American Feed Control Officers shows that your cat's food has passed rigorous feeding tests.

However, in my opinion, this is a minimum standard that any pet food should meet. Don't even consider feeding your cat (or dog) any food that does not at least meet this minimum standard.

To learn more about this organization and what they do, you can visit their web site by clicking this AAFCO link.
